Default Car Wont Start and Key will not come out

Hello everyone. I just got my 355 CI completely installed yesterday. I have totally taken the computer out and it was running prior to me pulling my 305. Last night, I got the last little bit of everything installed except for something kind of important. Can someone please guide me to the area to look at? My car will shift but I cannot put the key in the lock position to pull the key out. Also, the car is totally dead. When I turn the key to start it...nothing. I know it has to be wiring. I have 2 good grounds going to the motor so I am not sure what it could be at this point, but time to start troubleshooting. I cannot wait to get this car fired up and driving

Since you can't get the key out and the engine won't turn over I'd double check the shifter linkage. If the transmission isn't completely in park the key won't come out. If the linkage is not properly adjusted the neutral safety switch won't be in alignment and you will have an 'open' in the starter circuit.

Default Thanks

I was kind of wondering that since we replaced the detent cable yesterday. It is definitely possible we got something out of place since everything was working before we took it out. I have a 1985 Monte SS.

I have an edelbrock 1406 and bought the edelbrock hook up kit designed for the intake, but I am not positive we have the detent set up 100 percent correctly either. All slack is out of the line though.

If I were to adjust the switch on the shifter side, how would I go about doing that?
