Car won't start, gauges are 'twitching'
2004 monte carlo ss
Battery bought in November of 2012
So I went to my car during lunch a few minutes ago to grab a bite to eat from somewhere and my car won't start but I think its more than just a dead battery.
I know what to expect from a dead battery but its doing more than that, the gauges are twitching and even after I remove the key from the ignition they keep twitching for about 10 more seconds. The voltage looks to be at 8-9 with the key turned to on so that's obviously an issue but what it with the guages?
So while I finish up my work day and let this weird dead battery issue sink more in my brain I figure I'd post here incase ya'll have seen it before.
Video I just recorded -
Thanks

The battery can go at any time. If you only have 8-9 volts then other than the Battery It could be the alternator may not be charging.
I have had this issue on several cars low voltage and the gauges are doing what yours are.
Your car has a draw all the time to keep the computer working. I might get the battery checked, and the alternator.
Good Luck

Ya I'll be getting a new battery tonight and crossing my fingers...the gauges are the part I didn't understand. I'm glad to hear you've seen them twitch like that though. I still fear something worse is going on - hope I'm wrong!
