Car shakes when idiling
My 2002 monte ss shakes when i com to a red light or when i warm it up in the morning. I dont know what it is when i throw it in neutral it goes away but when its in park or any other gear while idiling it shakes. I replaced plugs and wires and air filter also did a oil change. Also my monte starts hard sometimes. I know im having catalytic converter probs could this be any part of the problem? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

The symptoms you mention (rough idle/smell of fuel) can both be caused by a bad cat. Since you say you're having cat problems I would replace it and see if the symptoms go away. If not further diagnostics will be required, but I have a feeling a new cat will resolve your problems.

I would get the cat fixed regardless, but your cat issues are probably being caused my something, which is more than likely something with the fueling system... which could also cause the car to shake. If you're smelling gas and shaking a lot you could have a number of things, from a seized valve spring (you'd probably throw a code if this were the case).
I would make sure your injectors, plugs, wires and coils are all good.. sounds like you're not firing on one cylinder.
After you get that fixed, which probably caused your bad cat with fuel leaking into the exhaust system, I would then fix the cat.

It doesnt shake alot just after it gets warmed up it shakes a little, but when i put it in neutral or give it gas the shaking stops. If it idles in any other gear it shakes a little. The car only smells like gas when i start it and a about 5 mins later the smell is gone. But im going to get a new cat tomorrow and go from there. Maybe get my coils n injectors checked.

I don't see the cat making it vibrate at all, it would just give you trouble shifting and such..
It sounds like you may have some bad upper motor or dogbone mounts if it's going away at neutral. However, you still shouldn't have that smell of fuel at startup.
