A/C Problems
Damn these dual climate controls!
Well ever since Ive owned the car, its never really blown cold. In the summer it has an extra hard time though. So I recently went ahead after checking various other possibilities, vacuumed the system out.
Pressure is fine, changed t-stat, new freon, and no leaks, compressor turns, however still no cold air.
Someone said it could be some kind of baffle in the dash thats letting hot air in still. Is this possible?
My symptoms are Ill turn on the car, turn on the a/c and it will blow heat. A couple minutes later the PASSENGER side only gets a little cold, however driver side will blow heat. Sometimes when I gun the engine for a few seconds and let off, theres a blast of cold air. So..........what am I dealing with here? Helllpp, its so hot out here in the desert!

I'm not an expert, but there is a diverter in there that directs the air through either the heater core or the A/C core, if you want to call it that. I'm not totally sure but I think this door is actuated by vacuum. Like I said, I am not possitive but on older cars this was the case. Maybe there is a vacuum leak causing this problem. Like you said when you rev it up you feel a short blast of cool air. Revving it up creates more vacuum. Maybe someone else will chime in and give us a better diagnosis.
