A/C problem 95 Z34
Hello All,
I searched but found nothing. First off thanks for the help from the board.
My questions invloves my A/C. I filled my A/C this summer with r-134 from Kragens and it took me a while since I had low pressure and that shuts down the compressor, well I bought a can with leak detector as well as leak seal but when I refilled it I used it for about a month mostly on Sats and Sun then I noticed that the 2nd fan wasn't kicking on anymore when I turned on the a/c, I checked the pressure and it was low, I checked the lines for the dye the can had when I filled it and found nothing. Does the cap that closes the port that is used to fill up the system neccessary or not, I had lost mine when I filled it and think it is leaking from the port. Any help with this issue will be appreciated. I would like to know if any of you have had this problem.

The cap on the high and low side lines do not HAVE to be there, but just as a valve stem cap, its a good thing to have.
One thing you can't see that often leaks freon is the evaporator. Thisshould beinside your heater box, and there really isn't any way to check if it leaks without tearing everything apart.
I would recommend taking it to a professional for this...

Check your evaporator drain tube for oil and the dye. If your shrader valves are leaking this is also a problem. you can't have any leaks. If you have any problems finding a leak get a black light and the dye you put in will glow like the moon. repair leaks change the dryerpull a vacuum and charge the system.
