Welcome to the forum. It's difficult to say whether or not you can take this on or not because we don't know your mechanical aptitude or experience. Have a look at the how-to video in post #3 to determine if it's something you'd be confident in doing.

Thanx... watched the video, looks like a lot of busted knuckles and broken nails. Going to attempt this next week if it saves me a couple hundred in labor I haven't lost anything....

That's the spirit...I like your determination. Busted knuckles heal and nails grow back so what the heck, may as well give it a go. Not only will you save some $$$ but you'll also have the satisfaction of knowing you took on the challenge and conquered it. Let us know how it comes out.

Default another question

When the knocking first started the a/c worked fine, if you experienced the knocking you know it generally occurs when the a/c settings are adjusted or changed.... Now the a/c is still blowing but its coming out as hot as the devils ****, I know the freon is good, compressor is a-ok. Did anyone else have the hot air problem that was resolved with replacing the actuator? or am I looking at a whole new issue?

If the A/C was working fine prior to the repair I'd double check my work making sure the actuator mode\temp valves and air inlet are installed correctly.
