brights not turning off
The brights have been acting strange lately. I have always hated the only pull back bright switch on my 2004 SS. I always get it confused with my other cars. When I pull back to turn off the brights, sometimes it does nothing and I don't hear any clicking. Last night it was taking 4 or 5 tries before the brights turned off. The people in the other lane were not pleased.
I hope this is a common problem. I have noticed the stalks on GMs go crazy sometimes. My corvette had a problem where the wipers would turn on for no reason and I had to change out the stalk.

Hi `Dave,
Sounds like abad high/low beam relay, and switch.
I'm not sure of the location, but it's something to `check.
Hopefully one of our expert member's will read your post,
and give the location, or their opinions.
Sometimes Car Parts stores like Auto Zone have
personnel that can assist.
I'm sure you are not to popularduring
theeveningrunning your brights.
Good Luck
Yeah, my 03 LS had the same problem. Try paying more attention to the angle you're pulling it at.. That will make all the difference.. That's why it'll all the sudden jump and turn on the turn signals.
My car actually would all the sudden make the headlights and all go completely out.. Luckily that one was under warranty when it was happening. The 06/07's are great, the push forward to engage the brights, then you just pull back to release. Much easier, no worrying about the angle you're pulling at. I wonder if they would retro-fit into the gen 6's... (2000-05)

It took getting used to the dimmer switch on my 04 Monte.
