Brakes & Rotors
I know that I am pretty rough on my brakes & rotors.. Between going over a mountain (literally) to go to Bradford, PA and back to Olean, NY, I'm on the brakes going down each side.. They do get quite a workout there.. In town, I am hard on my brakes cause of idiots who drive in front of me deciding to stop and / or turn without turn signals, so you have to spike them pretty hard.
I've never had decent luck with OEM (except for this time) rotors.. If I had unlimited cash, I'd go and get the Baer Brake System for the car and redo the entire braking system, front to back.

Yes I am going to give them a shot and see what happens.. Worst case scenario will be that they don't last for anything and I'm out $215.00.
They should be here tomorrow (Thursday, July 23rd) so if all goes well with the weather, I should be installing them on Friday.. FedEx comes here too late for me to do anything with them the day they arrive anyways.. I go into work at 3pm and FedEx usually doesn't stop by until after 4pm.

Got them in today.. I love FedEx out of Buffalo!! They were delivered at 10am. Still can't do anything with them though cause of the weather and me not having a garage to work in *lol* They do look good and solid.
Anyone have any suggestions or comments before I do pull off the rear factory rotors?? I know that the emergency brake pushes against the inside of the rear rotors, but didn't know if anyone had any hints or tips as to not to ruin them? The front rotors are coming off the usual way, turn the wheel and use a 3lb sledge to pop off the rotor. That is if it is a bit rusty on there, which after 6 years, I'm pretty sure that they may need a bit of nudging.
lol.. Thank you chibiblacksheep. Ok, so I did install my brakes and rotors today and I must say that they look kick ***!! I tested them out a bit and they work great.. No squeaks and hard braking is damn good
It took me about 1 1/2hrs to do all four brakes and rotors.. The only hang-up I had was when I took of the first tire and was about to take off the brakes & caliper, I noticed a torque screw in the rotor.. I looked at it for a moment and was like WTF!? So I had to put the tire back on the car (since I am the only one home today so it's the only car I have to drive), and I called the dealership and asked them what size it was.. It is a T-30 socket.. Just an FYI for those who may be changing their brakes in the near future.. So I went to my local AutoZone and forked out $5.40 for a T-30 socket (of course of all the torque sockets I have, that was one I didn't have *lol*).
My 2003 Monte Carlo did not have this so it must be something they put on the newest body generations.. Anyways, like I said, it only took 1 1/2hrs to take off the old and put on the new ones.. Mind you I am doing all of this without any help from air tools (mine are 150 miles away).
One thing that would be even more kick *** is if my rims had bigger openings so that you could see more of the brake system.. I have factory rims.. Maybe down the road I may switch it up to something different.

That's my whole beef about the look of my rotors and calipers right now :P
Stock wheels aren't going to show the work i'm doing yet, so I'm waiting a little
I don't care if my brakes are squealing at me right now on some days. It can wait until after my rockers, hv3, and tune... which I may get the end of next month :squeals:
