I'm having a brake light issue on my 1998 Monte. The rear window light will come on when I brake but the main lights don't light up. My turn signals are fine. Anybody with some info or recommendations? Thank you in advance.

 

This is a common issue and will be the last thing you think of to check . . . the turn signal switch assembly in the steering column. I replaced mine not too long ago. I got a great deal from Gene at gmpartshouse.com for the replacement. I have lots of pictures showing how to take the column apart to get to it. You will need a GM lock plate tool along with a steering wheel puller.

 

I have thee same issue on my 72. replaced everything i can think of. still not working. is there another relay some where i missed?
