Best code reader for the money????

If all you really need is to read and delete codes, just pick up the cheapest thing you can find. You should be able to find something on sale somewhere under $50. If you want something that can scan/ log and other features its easy to pay more. I have an OT2 that works with the iPhone/iTouch and its got a built in dyno and drag timer - lots of toys. Wireless. Its neat, but cost $170.

I really like my ScanGauge II. It doubles as real gauges when not being used for diagnostics. The $160 price tag may seem steep but you can use it in any OBDII vehicle.

This unit is also capable of resetting codes. I almost got stuck on a trail in my truck when it went into "degraded mode" and felt like it was running on only a couple cylinders. I was able to reset the code and get the engine to run as normal. Ended up being a dirty throttle body and MAF that caused the issue.
