Yeah, I had sticker shock at first, but if you start with quality parts, add in the shop's price mark-up on them then their labor rates ($140 per hour) and tax the $$$ gets up there in a hurry. I'm just glad I didn't have to foot the entire bill.

 

Never thought of it that way. I usually get my parts straight from napa and if I can't do it myself take it to Blaines Quality auto, local mechanic I've known for years thru my uncle who was his race partner in dirt tracks, and he usually only charges me $40 an hour. Sometimes I get lucky and he does things for free lol but thats like doing seals, tire repair, code reads, and some other minor things but still its the thought of free that counts
