Sounds like a bad heater core.

2 things to check.
1. check the bottom of the water pump and make sure it is dry.
2. as was said make sure the intake its self is not leaking.
also you can go to Autozone and get a leak kit relitivly cheap it might be a worth while investment for you at least then you could see where it is .
