thats one of the many problems the 3100 has. the intake and head are on such a harsh angle it doesnt always seat well and causes problems. i lost 2 engines due to that stuipd crap. so i just ended up getting a different engine put in

The 3100 and 3400 have intake gasket issues??????

J/K.

I actually thought someone had a good fix for this though like they made one from a thick version of feltpro or something.

I wonder why GM does not try to fix this issue if it happens so frequently?

that would involve them having to spend money, just like gm knew about the flywheel problems they had in the 90s but never fixed em. which ended up costing me 2200 dollars when it blew apart and tore my tranny up.

on my 97 I had an intake, then a head gasket, then the timing chain gasket. eventually the oil pump failed and said enough was enough. On my 01 I only had an intake gasket fail.

Are there any Tell-tale Signs before the Intake Gasket fails?

Or, is it something that happens all at once with no warning at all?

Gm also had Camshaft problems that they never fixed there camshafts were always made of two much soft metals and they never fixed them but when Chryslar had problems with theirs they were told they had to fix them and they did but gm never changed there cams? I just hope on my 97 i dont have any issues =(
