Default any changes between 2001 and 2002 mechanically?

Just wondering if the mechanical and electrical systems are the same from 2001 to 2002. I am getting a 2002 SS and am looking for the GM service manuals, and have found a set from 2001, but not sure if these would be correct for the 2002 model or if there were changes made between years, especially with the electronics.
Thanks
Dave

Cool Hi `David

Hi `Dave,
I think they are the same, but check back to see what other member's post (?)

This is what I found on MSN Below is on the changes from 2001 to 2002 Monte Carlo
What's New

Dual-zone air conditioning is now standard and three new colors are added: Medium Green Pearl, Bright Red and Competitive Yellow.

So if the dual zone air conditioning that was standard in 2002 was an option in 2001, I would think that the electrical system would be the same, and hopefully there were no changes in the 3800 and transmission ...

They are probably 99% the same. The only big one I can think of is the part number for the wheel hubs changes in 2002. But sites like rockauto can help with that.

The bigger mechanical changes happened in 2003. There might be a few odd things different, but nothing major that you shouldnt' jump on these books if it's a good deal

Thanks, have the set of 2001 Service Manuals on order now. I agree that at least 98% of the items would be the same, and the Service manual does not list the GM part numbers except for special tools needed.
