Altenator bracker 99
I have just finished replacing the lower intake gasket on my wife's 99 Monte Carlo. I am currently installing the altenator and have two black mounts to install. I know the short one goes to the stud on the intake and is the nut for the top bolt, But where does the longer one mount. I remember taking it off and only one end being attacked. Now I can not remember, can anyone help?
if its the same as the olds that i just did an alternator a couple days ago...there's a bolt on the front that goes into the bracket...
then there's one on the top @ the back
then the long one should go on the side (closer to the firewall...really hard to get at) they'll be a spot on the alternator for it to go in
if you look on the side @ the back you'll see it...or the easiest way if you still have the alternator you took out...look for all the spots where bolts would go on it..then you can tell where they go on the new one
good luck

Whatever you posted made me take a double take on the altenator and found where the long bracket went. It attached to the back of the altenator and then to a stud on the intake. Whoever had it off before did not attach the end to the intake stud so I did not know where it went. Thanks for your input, it made all the difference. The job is complete and all looks good thus far. This is a job I would rather not have to do again.
