6th Gen ('00-'05): Air in coolant lines..
Just got the last belt tensioner put in, coolant elbows changed, cooler thermostat & system flushed.. The price my mechanic charged me was amazing so I really have nothing to complain BUT! I'm guessing the sound of gurgling & swishing water in my engine bay is the sound of alot of air in my heater lines..(or something nearby)
Also, they added their own bottles of antifreeze(dexcool) that I wasn't too thrilled about...
I had antifreeze for the job in my car..
I'll deal with the 'swishing' noise for now, heat works fine & i'm not overheating. Once its warmer I do plan on re-flushing out the system to replace the dexcool for the yellow stuff. Is there any quick way I can flush out the system with a garden hose without installing those flush & fill tee's?

You can remove your thermostat, take off the lower radiator connector and just run water from your hose through the engine while its on.
Or you can remove the knock sensors and drain the block.
Dexcool isn't bad truthfully, you just need to not keep it in the car for 5 years or 100k like they say. The second the system gets a little low on coolant, the iron block rusts and then the rust falls into the coolant causing that nasty rust color. I still flush it every other year.

Thanks, I really wish they did the proper job... The coolant in there looked really nasty.. All they really did was drain the radiator & tank. But like i said, I can't complain..they didn't charge me much.
X2 what Mike (Chibi) said...
I pull the thermostat also and reconnect it (Free flow) and drop the lower radiator hose....I put the garden hose in the top of the radiator and also open the heatercore (Turn on the heat)... And let it flow for a good 20- 30 mins to flush it throughly...
Ive had great results...
My only issue, Is id like to replace the overflow tank...(Mine is stained) from the DEXCOOL experience. LOL
