Air condition Problem

Default Air condition Problem

Help

90 degrees today and my tem. number started running backwards from 90 to -38 and the a/c turned off. can anyone tell me where to start looking to fix it?

2006 Monte Carlo 3.5L LT

ambient temp sensor is messed up. usually located on the front bumper reinforcement bar between the A/C condenser and the bar more towards the right side i think. its a little black sensor and has a 2 pin connector going to it.
