Aftermarket alarm/autostart
#2
Whats wrong with the factory remote start? Its better than the aftermarket ones, the factory set up actually controls the climate bringing the cabin to 70 degrees, it also turns on the desfrosters when needed.
I'm just curious why you would even bother with aftermarket...
IMO, aftermarket alarms/ remote start can be asking for trouble. I've had bad experiences with an aftermarket alarm before. The engine imobilizer some how screwed up my truck, I had to strip the entire alarm out before it would start again.

I HATE factory alarms due to my bad experiences with them. The remote start is ok. I plan on doing some modding and i want to try to protect my investment as much as i can. So if i go aftermarket does that mean i cant use my climate controls or something? Dumb question but i just want to make sure that i understand you correctly.

the autostart on our cars will controll the temp. like for example: when its 40 and below, the car will automaticly put on the heat. when its 43 or something in the middle temp, it will put on whatever you left the climate control on(it will automaticlly go to that temp)when its above 40(like 50) it will turn on the air condition. the factory autostart is really not all that bad. you can read up on it in your manual
