I have tons of non-L67 coils laying around. I really do need to get a full spare set some time for exactly this reason. Granted, if one fails, I *could* use a non-L67 coil set temporarily. But where is the fun in that lol!

I have seen OEM coils last almost forever (note the word almost) and aftermarket replacements fail in less time than the OEM.
I do hope for ZZP you happen to have a rare failure.

Now.... How did you ultimately find it? Did you just swap the OEM coils back in?
When I did the head gasket job I wiped some shmoo off the ICM and it's heatsink. I didn't know that it was thermal paste until recently. I installed a new ICM and the car ran WORSE. After that I put the OEM coils back on as a last ditch effort, the car now runs fine untill 3k rpm where it's starts backfiring randomly.
