Default Advice on repairing rust...

Long time user but haven't been on in a while. Glad to see its still strong. I learned so much from here.

I could use some advice on how to correct the rust in the picture. Its a very long story but cars collision did a horrible job and this is the result a couple years later. I had medical issues so I couldn't put the attention the car needed. Well I'm back and ready to get her back into good shape. Mechanicaly this car is sound. The outside needs attention around the wheel fender. One in the picture is the worst side. Other sides have a little paint missing and rust starting. I have spent a decent amount of money on paint shops over the years and id rather do it myself now. I know it won't come out perfect but its better than rusting away.

Can you please list what I would need and how to do such repair. Or able to refer me to a site. More looking for how to rid of the rust, and repair that area. Painting and that I have knowledge of.

Sorry for the lengthy post
Thank you

You're welcome `Branden, Wish you good luck on your repairs... I've tried body work & end up doing more damage then it was before.
