Default Fixed

So, I ordered and received the hub for the LR the next day. Replaced it - a little trickier than I expected with that emergency brake set up - and at least for me, that fixed my problem also. Cool!

I would still like to know how one would know for sure if it was the hub or the wiring without trying one and hoping for the best.

Clearly this is not the answer for everyone with this problem, but I am sure glad it was the answer to mine.

Like I said, 9 times out of 10 it's going to be the hub. They are a pain in the *** and go frequently. If it throws a code and says it's the hub, I would imagine that's how you would know. If it's wires, I suppose just by looking and making sure they aren't corroding and connected fine should do the trick?

sry i must have missed this...in order to test for wiring issues the first step would b gettin a wiring diagram. next would b to unplug the sensors and test for continuity between the connector at the hub and another connector sumwhere in the car (i dont ahve the diagram in front of me) obviously if there is no continuity the wire is broken. next would b to test the resistance in the wires. if there is no eccentric resistance the next step would b to check for shorts. test the continuity of the power wire to a ground to c if it is grounding...

and it goes on but uve fixed it so i shall stop

Thanks guys for sharing you insight and experience. I certainly appreciate it.

That was part of the issue: i.e., the Code that it threw was "LR Wheel Speed Ckt Open/Shorted" so, since it only spoke of the "Ckt" - as written, it is not clearly the hub or the wiring - therefore the question. If it throws the same code either way - the code is not all that helpful.

In any case, this one problem at least is fixed.

Thanks again!

Default Same Problem

Hey,

I have an 04 SS w/ 134000 miles on it.

I had a problem about a month or 2 months ago where the traction would activate and would not let the car go anywhere so I took it to a dealer to find the wiring/harness needed replacing. I got that repaired to find 2 weeks later now I get the Service Traction / Trac Off and ABS light on.

I took it to another place to get the hub replaced along with the wiring and I still get the same crap.

I think one of the codes says NO signal or something like that.

Its going back tomorrow but I must say its getting old. I'm about 1/2 tempted to not even worry about fixing it.

I'm kidding.

Alright, time to carjack this thread.
I got the same problem as the original poster, on my 2000 SS. How would one go about pulling a trouble code for this? Who has those computors i mean.

I went to Advance Auto today, it popped no codes. I'm going to clean the wheel speed sensors and see what happens. Results to follow...

Ah, driver side wheel sensor ripped off the mount and dangling by 1 of the remaining inner wires. At least it was obvious when i looked...
