Ok so today i was driving to school. At a redlight my car died, when i tried to first start it again it was really weak sounding. I let it sit and tried it again and it was little strong. I repeated this 2 or 3 more times and it got stronger till it finally started again. But now it is REALLY sluggish. I floored it and it wouldn't speed up quickly at all. Any ideas on what could be wrong. I really need to get it fixed. I'm in college working my way through so i don't have money to just throw at a shop to get them to figure out what is wrong and to fix it. Any help would be awesome. Thank you ahead of time!

Id possibly check the crank position sensor and clean the upper intake manifold. My old 95 z34 did that and all I did was clean the upper intake manifold and it fixed the problem for me.

Sorry for double post... you also might like to check the fuel filter and the injectors... first the fuel filter, then the injectors, then the intake manifold, then the cps... that should be the order of checking. If all else fails to yield results, check spark and vacuum

For cleaning of intake and injectors, id recommend seafoam.

Try thottle body cleaner. I was thinking the MAF sensor - both (UIM) can be cleaned easily and cheap and could make the difference

Well i added the seafoam today and drive it around some. It doesn't run as rough now, but second gear has no throttle response. It's weak and climbs to like 3 grand before shifting to second and same for 3rd. I really like the car i have put alot of time into it. But i knew there was alot wrong with it when i bought it. I dropped it about 2 inchs and painted it black with green pearl. Some black 18's with low profile tires. It looks ok to me, i need to post some pics of it on here. Idk what is wrong with the car it's really starting to **** me off.

Sorry to hear your having so much trouble. Its hard to diagnose anything online - it could even be dragging brakes from what you describe, but it still seems likely a fuel/air/spark mixture thing...

Pulled a plug yet?

how many miles are on it? if it was me i'd do a fuel filter, fairly cheap part and simple to do.

do you think its related to the engine or the trans? is it throwing any check engine or service engine lights?

I haven't pulled a plug yet because i'm at my dorm and don't have the tools to do so, but my dad is suppose to come up next weekend and pull it back to his shop then i can really figure out what is wrong with it. It shouldn't be the plugs because i replaced the plugs, wires, fuel pump, and fuel filter last year when i first bought it before i started on the body work. It does burn oil however so it really could be a plug. It has 193k miles on it...yea i know alot lol. I'll just have to walk to work and school until next week xD
