thats cool if you have a lifetime warentee on the rotors. i would look into that, they might make you bring in the old ones to exchange with the manufaturer so they ( the store) get a write off & dont have to pay. i would just go that route if possible, but if its a persistant problem, you might want to look into aftermarket.

another thought: maby your tires are out of balance, or need to be rotated? over or under inflated? all these could cause those symptoms, due to uneven wear of the tires.
usually you notice it at high speed if its the tires, though. just a thought.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I'll try that 1st before I replace the calipers. 1 other thing. When I post up the pics of the damage should I just post to this thread or start one up in the pics fourms?

If you have a warrantee on the rotors, I would take them back and get new ones. They may be just fine but Ive gotten brand new rotors before that were bad. At the very least you will rule out the rotors.

Called Autozone today. Still under warranty so I will be returning them and probably go ahead and replace the pads w/some new ceramics. Here are some pics of the damage. I did have to beat and pull some dents in order to get the hood to shut where I could drive it safely if I need to. The last one is one of me and my son we took today. There were 2 of these New Camaro's same color @ the gas station. Both BumbleBee yellow. My son loves transformers and BumbleBee is his Favorite. Even though not a monte I thought u guys would like to see.

Nice Camaro!

Sucks about your Monte! Are you having it fixed?

Yea, sounds to me like your rotors are just warped AGAIN! Like I said, I have this problem over and over again with my stock rotors.

If the problem goes away right after you replace the rotors and pads with the new ones, this pretty much proves that your old rotors were warped. And if in 3 months it happens again, I would say you should try getting a better quality rotor...But I hope for your sake that your problems go away for a few years when you replace the rotors again this time.

Let us know how it goes!

Got the Monte's brakes done. Turns out I must have been being cheap that day cause it had the semi-metallics on it. Got the Duralast gold series ceramics w/the sound deadening shims on the backs of the pads. These things rock! Monte stops on a dime. The pads I took off looked terrible. The driver's side had already wore down almost to the squeakers. Now just gotta take care of her front end where bambi landed and will have her back on the road to recovery.

Good to hear...I had a feeling it was just a matter of bad rotors again. I bet the semi metallics ruined your rotors, that or just heavy braking on OEM style rotors is all it takes to warp them....I will never use anything but ceramic, or OEM organic pads.

I'm glad the brakes are all fixed now! Just get the front end done, and your good to go!
