It is best to check with you auto parts store and see what they recommend stuff for the house may not work in the Heat conditions under the hood.
There is a current thread closely related to your question on the forum. It is about "bubble flares" on the brake lines, and how the book says you must use new lines when you open separate them from the adjacent mating surface. Most of us get lucky and can get away with reinstalling the existing ones to the new fitting. Sounds like all the pressure from your new master is wrecking havoc on your connections. I would inspect them, they may be slightly deformed from the old surface contours and the new ones being slightly different. You can get a brake line flaring tool and use it to reshape the flared female cavity. Just bump it enough to tweak the metal surface into a true shape. Then clean everything, reinstall the line, snugly tighten the fittings, but not so much as to over tighten and potentially create a new leak.
