86 monte carlo differential issue

Default 86 monte carlo differential issue

i have a 86 monte carlo and the rear end seems to sit a bit off...the driver wheel seems to stick in about 3 inches and the pass sticks in about an inch...the rear end seems to be from a 78 79 monte carlo thats what i was told atleast ...everything seems to be attatched fine i put new shocks new coil springs ...i just cant seem to figure it out any advice would be greatly appreciated

First are the wheels the same ? same back spacing on wheels.. second measure from backing plate to inner wheel housing to see if rear end is off center..

yes the wheels are the same there a set of z28 wheels with all brand new matching tires...i just got done measuring from the backing plate to where the shock bolts up to and they were both the same on each side??

Measure from backing plate to inner wheel housing on both sides ..to see if it's centered ..

HEY Dude. Look I have a 70 Chevelle samething. No big deal. One side of the rear wheels are closer to the fender then the other. I think its my drivers side that about 3/4 of an inch closer the the rear fender lip then the other side. I had to trim some of the fender molding a bit so it wouldn't rub on my tires. Don't worry bout it And its a #'s mactching car. So everything is right out of the factory. Depending on your wheel off set how close your going to be.

Beign a 4 link style set up it makes me wonder if some one didn't spin out into a curb or somthing, and bend those links, or somthing

I'm wondering the same thing...maybe the upper and/or lower control arms are bent.

i jacked the car up high the control arms are straight i just dont get it ...it just bothers me cause it makes the car sit not even its barely noticable but i only notice it cuz its my car just a bit aggravating
