Default 4T65E Torsen Differential

Anyone know where I can find a new GM performance parts torsen differential (GMPP #88958682) for the 4T65E tranny? Have an 02 Monte SS and am looking to upgrade. Found some on ebay, but was looking for other places to compare prices.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

I got one a while back, from gm parts direct. Looks like 1500 plus shipping.

Hope this helps,
Joe

If that's what I think it is then it's no longer produced, but you should expect to spend at least $1500 even for a used one. Occasionally you'll find one for sale on clubgp or something, but they're pretty rare.

You can always go Quaife! That's what went into my transmission and it's, almost the same thing. The Quaife it's all gears, like the GMR one, and runs about the same. The difference is that Quaife still makes the differential and, if you blow it up, it can be rebuilt.

Funny you should ask as I just bought one. I will have it here this Thursday the 31st of Mar. Tried to get the Quaife one and a North American distributor "Crowder" got back to me and said Quaife wont make any till we have an order for 30 of them. So my mechanic actually found back east a N.I.B. GMPP Torsen differential system for my 2002 Monte with the 4T65E. Set me back $1835 with shipping. I can see if he can find another as these are getting very difficult to find. Guess the GM one is the cats meow........ Let me know.

Too bad you couldn't get a Quaife. Much cheaper, same thing as GMR.

Thanks for all the responses.
Think I would go with the GM unit since I have read it is the best. Found the differential on GMpartsdirect.com for 1850 shipped. Also found them listed on a number of other sites with the cheapest being citycratemotors for 1603 shipped. Don't know if they have them in stock because I haven't called yet. If not there were some new ones listed on ebay for about 1700 shipped so may have to go with that.

GMPartsDirect is actually just a dealership. Don't place an order with them, they can't get any items that your local dealership can't get. But they will take your money while they "special order" items and never keep you updated, or order the part after 30+ days (yes, this happened to me)
