i have an 82 6 cylinder and it dies whenever i put it in gear so unfortainatly it is sitting in the street and not drive able anyone have any ideas as to what to try i look all over for a vac leak with no luck HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

look at the carb. they clog up underneath at the base plate. also they are known for the choke/choke pulloff to go bad. to check the choke foor problem stick a screwdriver in the top of carb, see if iit fixs the problem. to check the carb to see if it is carbon fouled check the pcv for vacuum. good luck if this don't work get back to me

 

i sprayed the heck out of it with carb cleaner and it will drive i just have to slam it in gear with it floored someone told me the torque conveter was bad does this sound right ???????
