3.4L idling high, all vacuums verified
I have a 1995 3.4l dohc, and the darn thing wont come off of high idle, UNLESS its cold outside. I did do the timing belt recently, and have verified all the vacuums are intact. I even smeared a light coating on the intake gasket while off to try and remedy this idle. Still does it. It shows an intermittent CE light after coming off acceleration, but goes out when accelerating.....ANY IDEAS TEAM????? Don't have the OBD1.5 cord to verify Thanks

Is this the cold idle problem where you start it and it revs itself up to 3000 for a few seconds, and then falters and stalls if you don't jab the gas pedal?
I used to have that problem on my '95, until I found this weird rip in the PCV hose next to the throttle body. I sure don't know how that rip got there, but it was an easy job to replace that hose, and the engine stopped doing that high-idle self-revving. So if there's any kind of leak (puncture, loose hose, etc), if you can find it, it's probably an easy fix.
