Default 2007 Monte Haynes Manual Question?

Does anyone have the Haynes Manual for the 2007 Monte Carlo V6 3.5L. I want to remove my front rotors and have them inspected for warping and I want to replace my front brakes, and do a oil change tomorrow. I wanted to see if I could have a diagram of what to expect. I've done brakes before on two other cars one a Mercury Station Wagon, and the other a Mazda 626LX and oil change, but I want to do it by the book with my new car.

[:@] Well I almost had the rotars off, but then I noticed this isn't like a Ford..[:'(]
Damn, if I would of known the rotars were fastened to the axle I would of never took anything apart ...
I think I need a 25mm Socket to remove the center piece just to remove the rotar. I don't recall having to do this on my Ford wagon. I need a manual ...
I would hate to pay the dealer $45 for finding the problem and another $450 for parts and labor just to turn a frikin' rotar or replace it ... why are cars so difficult ...

Anyhow I'm still puzzled as to why my car pulsates at speeds over 80mph when I apply the brakes to slow down, but doesn't do so at slower speeds. Could the rotars be warped to a small degree where I isn't affecting the brake pads? Or is it just a heat issue with these cars and these type rotars?

This car was a used rental car with 15,000 miles on the O/D when purchased ...

The big nut in the center has to go before the rotar will free up? Ford is a little different where as the nut thingy stays on the car while the rotar moves freely .... well atleast that's how i remember when I had to have my Mercury Rotar replaced after a score from worn
brakes ..

The brakes look good (the same for the other side too no problems) why is my car pulsating when I brake?

I'll check the rear brakes tomorrow, but i'm most certain it's coming from the front end ....

why check for warping? either you have a brake pulsation or you dont... if you have a brake pulsation and a shimmy in the steering wheel only when braking, then the front rotors are warped

btw, you would need a dail indicator to check lateral run out. and a brake micrometer to check thickness variation

I do not have a 2007 manual, but on a 2005, the rotor should come off after the caliper andbrackets come off. There is no need to take off the nut.

That's what I thought, but it's all one piece .... I need a 20-25mm socket and some leverage to move that nut ...

i'm not positive on the size, but think that big nut that you do not need to take off is going to be a 34 or 36mm

i'm guessing whats stopping you is that small black torx head bolt that holds the rotor against the hub
