it never came out as a tsb that i saw. just a recall for cold climates, then amended to all climates.

 

Yeah, like changing the battery... What a nightmare.

 

lol true story. had i looked on the forum i would have saved myself a couple hours. i didnt realize the fuse box was 2 piece. once i got the top half of it wasnt too bad. personally i think they should have put it on the other side of the car, or used a slightly smaller battery.

 

So it's a PITA to change the battery in our Montes, huh? I haven't been through that experience yet. Something for me to look forward to! (rolling my eyes)

I was watching a video for the new Dodge Charger on Jay Leno's Garage and they said that they put the battery in the trunk on that car, for better weight distribution they say.

 

Batteries should be in the trunks of all FWD cars in my opinion.

 

I had my car half taken apart to change my battery. Said 'screw it' and paid Goodyear $10 to do it.

 

^Nice. I would have too.

 

They complained about it taking 45 minutes to do.

i changed the battery on my 06 and im sorry guys its not that hard. move the cross brace and move the fuse box and youre right there. ill admit an extra set of hands to hold the fuse box up is nice though. on my 89 vette i have to take the drivers fender off to get the battery out, and that car eats through batteries. ill take the monte any day
