Default 2006 MC SS : Radio and dash light wont shut off after opening the doors

Hello all:

It's been quite some time since I posted. I am hoping someone may have the answers for this problem on my 2006 SS. So when all things are operating correctly, when I take the key out of the ignition and sit in the car, the normal thing is the radio will continue to play for about 10 minutes and if I decide to open the drivers door before that it should instantly shut off the radio and dash lights power.

However, this is not happening. When I open the door the radio and dash lights will remain on. They do eventually go off after 10 minutes after I have left the car. Anyone have any clue? Is it BCM, a door jamb switch?

Thanks guys

Does the car seem to recognize the drivers door being open at all (ie does the dome light come on when you open it)? Id strongly suspect the door switch first, but certainly should test it to be sure. I had the drivers door switch fail on our 08 Impala.

Bumpin96, The dome light does not come on when I open it.

I am pretty sure if I open the passenger door it does come on. But ill check again.

Sounds exactly like the door switch issue we had on our Impala then. Certainly could be something else, so its worth testing before replacing, but Id bet the switch failed.
