If you have extended warranty, a new tranny/ motor mounts, whatever it needs should be covered.

Who is the warranty through? If its GMPP Major Gaurd, you are covered whatever the problem is.

Those were the exact symptoms of my tranny. Guess what, GMPP had no choice but to give me a brand new tranny. I hope you don't need a new one unless you have the insurance package.

General Motors 100k miles Protection Plan. Did you buy your car from a dealer?

have the 3.9 also. the tranny going out on these cars are a common problem. i highly doubt its the tranny or motor mounts.

My 01 SS has tranny issues as well. I knew from the start that there was issues with every part of these trannys. I've started saving for a new one knowing full well it will eventually go.

Maintenance and driving like a sane person helps nothing.

In the end, it's a GM and will fail (don't get my wrong, I love the drive of a GM hands down but they have issues).

YOUR issue sounds like a mount. How does it drive... BACKWARDS?
