6th Gen ('00-'05): 2003 gas gauge not working correctly
Mostly true I would say. took me a couple of hours to get mine out of the tank, but that included removing the back seat so I could lift the carpet up to get to the panel in the trunk floor that covers the fuel pump. the 3 fuel lines were easy to unsnap from the pump, put some rags down as some gas will leak out when you disconnect the lines. The hardest part was spinning the locking ring since mine was rusted in place. once that was out I was able to pull the pump out and take a break until the next morning. Putting the new one was just the opposite of taking it out, but I needed a friend to help put the locking ring back in, I repainted my rusty one the night before with rustoleum and had a little trouble getting it to lock back in place. You need one person to push the ring down into place with 2 hands and another person to use a punch to turn it until it locks. then reconnect the lines, put the carpet back in place and bolt the rear seat back in and you are all set to go.
I paid around $190 for a AC Delco pump through Ebay, cheaper ones can be found but I could not find anyone else on the forum that used a Dorman pump so would not trust the durability of the cheaper one.

I'm in Glastonbury, My wife is having the same issue, care to come give me a hand? I'll buy a 12 pack on nice warm day and we can bang it out.
Just re-read this and it totally came across the wrong way....LMAO. But no seriously my wife has a 2004 Monte 3.4L. Her gauge is going all wacky too. I'm thinking it's the sending unit as well. Anyone have a part number I could look on Rockauto for it?
Here is the sending unit but doesn't include the fuel pump

Here's the fuel pump. The issues doesn't seem to be lack of fuel though, just the needle going up and down while driving.
