i have a problem with the multi function switch on my 2002 monte carlo. i was driving along and my high beams stuck on and head lights went off. turned off car and high beams stay on!!! called gmc about a recall because they want 520.00 dollars for part!!!!! extreamly dangerous and this should be a recall, they told me they had no other complaints, i cant bealive that!!! Anyone else had this problem?

 

yup, with my 05. i would turn on the hi's and they would stick, (sorry to whom ive blinded!!) but after on/off a couple of times they would go off. took it to the dealer and they installed a new one, and they did say i wasnt the only one w/this problem. i think you are stuck paying the 520.

 

My 03 is somewhat the same. The feel when I try to put the high beams on is different than I'm used to and a couple of days this week when coming into work, I went to switch off the high beams it also cut off the lows, was driving with only the fogs and parking lights, a quick panic pull or two on the switch turned the lows back on. Only had the car for a little more then a month so I'm still feeling out what should be normal and what isn't... that obviously isn't normal!, Usually don't use high beams so I think I'll just quit, now that I hear your stories and hope the deer see me and don't decide to challenge me to a race. Don't have the $500 to spend right now and don't need to pi$$off some country bumpkin with a loaded 12 guage in his back window!
