Hi guys today I got my 2002 monte SS back from the shop and got a new exhaust system. We got the resonator replaced with a Magnaflow Glasspack Muffler and straight piped the mufflers in the back. The car sounds like a beast and really loud (which I want) but above 2800 rpm, the growl stops and basically no more sound, just the engine. I was just wondering if someone can explain this to me. Thanks

 

That's the downside of this engine. They sound good at idle and low rpm but the higher rpm range they don't sound too good and get raspy. Sadly there is no way to get a v8 sound from this v6
