2002 Heated Drivers Seat went out...

My Dad was nice enough to give me his 2002 Monte SS and I love it!! He had the car serviced under warranty in 2004 for the drivers side seat not heating up. From what I understand, both the pieces of the outer skin were replaced. Being from Chicago, and it's just getting cold, it's a bad time for my leather seat to go out on me. I looked up the p/n's that they replaced at the dealership and it would cost me about $600 for both pieces!! My passenger side is working, both lights on the console are working, but the seat is not heating up. Seeing as both the bottom and back of the seat are not working, I assume that the problem stems somewhere else in the car. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to look for to trouble shoot this?
Thanks all!!

90% of the time it is the seat bottom has a break in the heaters. You can disconnect the back from the bottom, and put a jumper wire in between the heaters. It is at the bottom in back, a green connector. You should be able to pin point either the seat or back this way, and onlt replace what you need to. But like I said, it's rare that the back goes out.
