Default 2000 SS temp gauge problem

So yesterday i hopped in the Monte and noticed after about 10 mins of driving that my temp. gauge wasnt moving. My first thougt was "Ok, its 15 degrees out maybe shes still cold." So i cranked the heat up and it was as hot as usual. Right now im leaning towards the actual gauge cluster. Any ideas?

Thanks, Owen

The gauges use stepper motors and they are known to go out. Only way to fix it is to get a new cluster.

I had the exact same problem. I ended up replacing the temp sensor twice and it still didnt work. In fact, my 2001 Monte's coolant fan would run immediately when I would turn the car on and for about 15 minutes after I turned the car off.

What fixed it?? NEW THERMOSTAT! Makes no sense because the heat was HOT HOT HOT. Try the thermostat and check back.
