Default 2000 monte carlo low beam headlights 9006 wont turn on.

when driving my 2000 monte carlo ss my low beam headlights wont turn on. about a month ago, they wouldnt turn on so i cycled my high beams on and the low beams kicked on and stayed on. Now the low beams dont work at all. but my high beams work- the high beams wont stay on but work when held back. ive checked the 10a fuse under the hood. ive also checked the low beam and high beams headlights and all seem to be fine. About 2 years ago i replaced both low beam wiring harnesses that connect to the low beams ive never had a problem with them but thinking that might be an issue also. any info would be greatly appreciated!

It could be your multi function switch, I've heard of them acting up in most of these cars. Here is a few links on what you'll need and how to replace it, if you decide to go to the dealer its a $550.00 part.

thank you before i replaced my multifunction switch my turn signals went out and stoped working all together. i installed a new multifuntion switch, the last connector the biggest one on the end. is it possibly to hook that unside down or does it go in just one direction? also i installed the new multifunction switch and still no turn signals.

Under the hood on the passenger side fender well are 2 fuse boxes. In the top box there are fuses for your low/high left and low/high right. One is marked DRL/EXIT LTS and the other is marked EXT LTS.
