Default 1998 z34 wiring issue

iam looking for some help finding out where a wire is spose to go to. the other day check engine light came on and i checked the codes. the first was a series of codes for the map sensor. changed the map and rechecked..no more map codes, however i have a new code p0403 egr control circuit. i noticed while checking for loose wires, i found a purple/white wire disconnected. the wire comes off the engine harness from the d pin location on top of the engine near fuel rails and runs in its own conduit kinda by the master cylnder just beneath it, thats where i lose the connection. this wire puts a voltage .05v at idle and varies depending on what the rpms are. i was able to find out it could be fuel reserve signal wire but that it. the car has the 3.8. i spent many hours on this already plates are expired and cannot get them renewed till it passes emmisions. any help. would be greatly appreciated.
