Hello, I just inherited a 98 z34 with brake problems, so I am new to this forum. I had to install a new master cylinder (among other things). But when I went to bleed, I have very little pressure to the back. I am not used to working on these cars with ABS. Is the bleeding procedure any different? Also, the master has 4 ports on it, 2 that screw into the abs module and 2 that just pop in with a rod connecting the master to the abs mod. There was no clear bench bleeding proceedure in the manual, so I just left the caps in the rod holes and threaded the bench bleeding kit into the screw holes...was this correct?

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder...BEFORE you instahled it?
If not you don't have to remove it to bench bleed it.
Just remove the lines and and run the bleed hoses back into the reservoir!
after that reconnect the vehicle brake lines and re bleed the whole system..
RR LR RF LF <------------- heres the proper order to bleed the system!

I did bench bleed it before installing, but like I said, it has 2 ports with screw in connectors and 2 with press in connections. Do I need to keep the push-in ports capped and use the screw-in ports for the bench bleed (as in older models)?

 

And also, do I need to bleed at the abs modulator some how? Or just at the calipers?
