Default 1995 monte carlo ls overdrive sometimes

if im reapeating this I apologize, im kind of getting use to the sight. Anyway I have a 95 m/c ls I have overdrive once in a while, had a neutral safety switch code and replaced it did not help then last week I replaced a cruise control fuse that was burned out and instantly had overdrive for 4 days then it went out again. the only thing I did different was put a cd in the aftermarkrt cd player someone else put in. I've been told iy could be a solenoid but if that was true would it not set a code, I think I have an electrical problem but don't know where to start.
thanks ahead of time for all ur help

It could be the torque converter messing up, a solenoid, or a failing brake switch...although honestly, it's probably gonna be the TC or a solenoid. Labor intensive.

First you should find out if it is overdrive that is missing or the torque converter not locking up. Place your gear shift in 3 instead of overdrive, count your gears as it shifts. If you count three distinct shifts, your car has no overdrive, if you only count two shifts, you have lost your converter lock up. That will give you a true starting point.
