Just purchased an '07 SS. Engine cover reads "Active Fuel Management". While searching, I looked at another '07 that had "Displacement on Demand" on the engine cover. My SS wasn't built until 12/06. Could ther other one have been a left over from '06? I assume they have the same meaning. Anyone have the answer?

GM stopped using the"Displacement on Demand" or DOD designation for some reason, and started using "Active Fuel Management". They are the same thing, just different names. Welcome to the forum!

 

Displacement on Demand alwaysseemed like a misnomer.

It is not the driver's demand.

Displacement on the Computer's Demand is more realistic.
