Default Pain Flaking on Engine Cover

Anyone have this happening on their mote? the red stripes that go across the ridges are flaking and blowing back onto the firewall. Not a big deal, just an eye sore. My real question is, has anyone touched this up and what color of red would you recommend?

wiz kidd - let me know what your dealer says. I think its a long shot, but it might just take the right people there. I suppose it should be warranted, but most of the dealers where I got mine look at me like, "you've GOT to be kidding." I'm pretty picky, so I've brougt them lots of "dumb" little jobs to take care fo for me.

the thing is if your goign to touch it up your better off doign it right so it wont come off agian/

Use a paint ad heastion prompoter for plastic and then paint on top of it this will allow the paint to bite in to the plastic on there with out it comming off easily

if they dont cover it, i think i'm going to take it off and do it gloss black, with orange stripes(the way they are now, but they're peeling) and then silver for the supercharged name, but the gloss black would look good i think, but this is only if they dont feel like covering it, i asked yesterday, they took pics and they're going to call me back

Just curious if you had an update on the warranty claim or you repainting it yourself.

FWIW - I just took my monte in and this week they will be replacing the following under warranty:
Engine Cover (paint flaking)
Radio Controls on Sterring Wheel (words flaking off)
Wheel Center Cap ("clear coat" gone bad - looks like paper mush that got wet then dried)

They already replaced:
Horns b/c they had water in them
Brake pads and resurfaced rotors b/c they were corroded and pulsating
Fuse in front power outlet
Both tailights b/c of condensation in them (7k miles ago)

They would not reaplce:
Rear ground effect b/c of two-to-three matching asterik (*) shaped cracks in the paint (they said they were from an impact).

Just thought I would update anyone else thinking about any of this.
