04 SS HVAC problems
Ok, total newb here.... I have tried searching the site and all the threads and cant seem to find a solution for my problem, so sorry if this is a repeat of someone else... I have a 2004 Monte Carlo SS 3.8L Supercharged. now my problem is, the blower motor does not work on ANY setting (i.e. high, low, panel, floor, mix, defrost, hot or cold). I tried to replace the blower resistor with no luck. I have also checked all fuses which all check good. I have also hooked up the blower directly to the battery and it works....now what?!?

thanks, i was considering that. only thing that throws me off is when you select a fan speed the light (for fresh air or recirculate) lights up as it should. although the backlights have all burned out for a while now, so regardless it is probably time for a new one

Just because the lights come on in the HVAC control panel just means the panel recognized that you commanded something (the rear defroster is notorious for that, if the defroster fails, the HVAC unit will still show it as on, even though it's not working).
But I am guessing at the HVAC panel, it could still be elsewhere in the car. By the fact you tested the blower, rules that out. You could see if your getting a volt reading at the wire connecting to the blower as well.... Just to ensure that's giving power.

Thanks for your input. Turned out to be by pure dumb luck a bad part from the store. Got it up and running now. Ordered the control panel anyways (tired of the back light issue), while under there I noticed a slight run of purple water (I assume it was from the car wash I went through earlier in the day...when I still had a functioning blower). I noticed the thread referring to the cowl deflector fix using GM# 15794785. That is for the 06-07, but will fit with the minor mod, correct?
