04 speedo displays the wrong speed
Last night I was driving down the highway while doing about 75 in rain and noticed my speedo said 90! Well I about pooped a brick, but my gps said i was doing about 70. When i stopped my needle was stuck between 15 and 20. There was no way I going as fast as my speedometer said. This morning it was still acting up but seemed to slowly recalibrate itself. When I got to work the needle went back down to zero.
I know my gauges have little motors, but has this ever happened to anyone? I have less than a year left on my warranty so I need to know if I should get this checked/replaced if necessary.

I would most certainly take it in while its under warranty. Sounds to me that your instument cluster is taking a S*it on you. I've heard of it happending to more than one person. It should be coverd under warranty, just don't let them get away with saying "nothing appears to be wrong"
sorry to bring up an old thread but i'm too lazy to start a new one with a back story.
so today my speedo went wacky again. this time it was reading ~95 when i was actually doing about 55-60 (based on rpm's). when i stopped it was pegged at about 40. the good thing is i think i know how to fix it (at least temporarily). you know how when you start or stop the car the needle jumps a bit? well what i did to get the needle to reset back to 0 was to cycle the ignition on and off a couple times till it was back at 0. hope this is of use to anyone with the same problem.

i had to cycle the ignition a bunch of times to get it to reset. i know it's just a temporary fix, but it works for now. i'll take it to the stealership after new years so they can fix that while they fix my heated seat.
Yes, take it to the dealership and get both issues resolved. Unfortunately, I had the same problem with no warranty. Bought a used cluster on flea bay and had the motors replaced by bbengineer.com. Ended up costing me about $150 all together.
