Default 04 monte carlo fuel rail dent

Need help in identifying 04 monte carlo ss 3.8l series II fuel rail dent as normal or not normal. Rebuilding upper and lower intakes due to rad fluid leakage and broken elbows from tensioner. Reinstall almost completed except for I noticed the fuel rail has a dent almost 1 inch from the fuel regulator on the c-tube. dent appears to be 50% of tube diameter. I also have an 04 grand prix but the fuel rail assy is different does anyone have any idea whether or not this dent is normal? picture will not load due to my internet.

If anyone is willing to check their car for this, to check for the dent you have to pull the engine cover off by twisting the oil fill stem and lifting off cover. then feel on the c part of the tube on the front lh side of engine under the regulator valve on the fuel rail.

Does it look like this one?

It's the same P/N as your '04 SS.

Wow cant beleive a pic was found. I searched for hours and couldnt find you guys are awsome. I got an answer a round about way from the good folks at jegs. Aside from gm parts direct who of coarse wanted a ton of money jegs had the rail. So i emailed their tech dept n asked if their new one had a dent. They said it did and guessed it happens during the manufacturing process. Just finished reassembly. Got power steer flush and filter add left. Saving the tie rod ends till i get my other cars grand prix rear brake fiasco fixed hopefully next weekend. Thanks again guys. Just another weird normal defect. Ha.
