For the last 3 months I have had an intermittent problem. It may happen twice a day or twice a week. I loose sound from the radio but all the functions of the radio are fine. When this happens the door chimes have no sound as well. Also when I first start the car with no seat belt on normally there are 5 chimes that also will have no sound. When the sounds come back the radio crackles and pops for awhile (around an hour or so) and slowly goes away. Door chimes and seat belt work again too. If I had to guess was thinking it maybe the body control module. I looked at the wiring but did not see anything that looked abnormal to me. There does not seem to be any other issues when this happens. Any help in solving this is greatly appreciated - thanks.

 

If you are loosing sound through the radio my guess word be the radio is faulty. Your chimes actually come through the radio and are emitted from your drivers front door speaker.
