04 monte blower resistor removal
Got a question on how am I suppose to remove the 2 plastic looking pinned tabs holding the blower resistor module in place? Flat screwdriver and pry apart or what?
There is nothing I can see to fit the indent of head of the 2 fasteners.

Those are "heat stakes". GM got cheap(er) and instead of using screws, used a 1-time use method. If you can get a drill in there, you can drill them out. You will have to go to a hardware store and get a couple of screws to use for putting the new resistor into place. There will be "pre-drilled" holes to line up to (new screws should thread the holes with no issue).
Here's a couple of quotes from the shop book on the subject:
Here's a couple of quotes from the shop book on the subject:
Remove the two heat stakes from the blower control module using a small chisel.
- Install the blower control module. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the two new screws in the pre drilled holes to the side of the heat stakes in the blower control module and HVAC module assembly.
