03 Monte Carlo issues
Hopefully this is the appropriate section.
I've had this car for about 3 weeks now and was only able to drive it for about 3 days before it overheated and ended up leaking coolant. Turns out the radiator cracked. So after installing a new radiator it turned out that the radiator fan was messed up as well; one side of it wouldn't work and it just happened to be the side that cracked. Bought a new fan and it works fine. New thermostat has been installed as well. Now here's my issue:
It still overheats in about 10 minutes of idling. I have a lot of smoke coming out the exhaust but it has done that since I bought the car. Admittedly, it's been doing it much more frequent now. It's a grayish/white smoke. However it doesn't really have a smell to it. It also seems to be smoking near the water pump almost as soon as the car is started, but the water pump isn't leaking.
So I'm honestly not sure where to go from here and figured there was no better place online to ask. Thanks in advance!

Sound like you need to replace your lower intake manifold gaskets, common issue on our cars, the tell tale sign is the white smoke out the exhaust.
Check your oil asap and make sure you don't have coolant in there, I wouldn't recommend driving the car til you get it fixed as the coolant will wreck the motor here is a link to a set of gaskets on zzperformance.com
Intake Gasket - Gaskets & Adhesives
Also check and make sure your fans are turning on, there is a ground behind the drivers side headlight that the wire can turn brittle and break, mine had to be fixed last week, and when driving the car was normal operating temp but when at idle or driving in traffic it would over heat, this was the culprit in my case but definitely worth checking

Thanks for the response!
The guy I bought it from said he just replaced the intake gaskets but I'm not too sure on that. The fans are definitely kicking on but only once the temp gets to about 210? I've heard that the fans are supposed to come on regardless of temp if you turn the A/C on but that doesn't seem to be the case for me.

You can always change the fan relays, they are in the fuse box in the engine, there are two grey ones and one black one, they are really cheap and easy to replace, wouldn't hurt throwing new ones in, as the ac should kick the fans on so it could be the problem and literally takes about 2 minutes to change all 3
The smoke out of the exhaust is what leads me to think you need the new gaskets, definitely check your engine oil for any milky substance

So, I did a block test and it came back yellow. There also appeared to be coolant leaking again but I have no idea where from now. New radiator and hoses are all good.
Edit: Is it at all possible it could be the water pump? It's reaching maybe 200 within 5 minutes of being started.
Interesting to note: There is a slight...whistling sound after accelerating? Well, after giving it some gas while in park. I can't figure out which direction it's coming from though.
Edit 2: while using a Innova 3100 an error came up about Exhaust Gas Recirculation. However, from what I've read that can cause a lot of issues and headaches but overheating is not something that it can cause.
Should you be hearing bubbling (in the radiator I presume?) especially once you turn the vehicle off?
