Default 02 Monte SS Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid

I am having problems with my car while accelerating. The rpm gets to bouncing up and down shaking the back and forth. I have no check engine light or code.
I talked to the service manager at a performance shop he says its probably the torque converter clutch solenoid. He also states it wont hurt anything, just is annoying, that they could put a tune on my car to bypass the issue.
Does this sound correct and will that work?

No, it will hurt things. Everytime the convertor engages and releases it generates heat. If it gets hot enough it will kill the whole trans. Only way to tune it to stop this from happening is to have the convertor never lock up and that will cause heat from driving in higher rpm and also give terrible gas mileage.

Actually, this might be more of a "cause and effect" problem and the TCC solenoid is a symptom. It could be a number of problems, but the most common is a worn valve body. Tuning out the TCC sometimes works, but it's just a temporary bandaid.
Check out this write up from Triple Edge Performance. Dave, the owner is one of the foremost experts on the 4t65e.
